Valletta has seen the renovation of the Public Convenience on Strait Street. This street was famous with the British sailors, and was synonymous with barmaids. The Public Toilets have been transformed by local architect Chris Briffa and artist Norbert Attard, making this place a truly unique experience.
The art installation “I Love Tracy Emin” is also causing a lot of controversy mainly because of the ‘V’ words written on the glass windows outside – including ‘Vagina’, ‘Virgin Mary’ and ‘Viagra’ to mention a few. Inside the toilets there are also sounds of a barmaid having sex.
You only pay €0.30 to use the toilets, and a toilet attendant makes sure the place is kept clean.
Strait Streets is minutes away from Valletta Nobile.
