Stairs
The house has its own separate entrance at street level. The ample, airy stairways made from hand-cut Maltese stone, leads to the living area. The white washed walls are lined with wood cut prints of Maltese costumes, scenes and objects collected over time.
The element of surprise, that is always present in baroque architecture, is given a new twist with a large glass lightbox – “Bellezza Pura” – a Maltese lady in noble costume being adorned with a Maltese cross by two cherubs. It is a refined commissioned work of art, that gives a sense of unity to the living area.
